River levels being monitored and are currently holding in all areas.  Heavy rainfall has caused some road flooding issues in certain areas, all dealt with by LCC staff and Fire Services.  At time of posting there are no road closures in place.  Driver caution is advised at all times.

A number of fallen tree incidents have been dealt with by LCC staff and Fire Services.

Please note that due to technical difficulties, the LCC out of hours contact number is not currently operational.  In the event of an emergency,  please dial 999.

The Bay Road, Mountmellick is now open as the flood has receded.

The following roads are closed:

The L-21331 at Clonterry closed due to flood water

Old Leighlin Road, Graiguecullen closed due to flood water

Further updates will be provided as necessary.

Please note that due to flooding, Old Leighlin Road Graiguecullen is closed until further notice. Updates will be circulated as necessary.

The Linear Park will be closed from 8am on Monday 17^th February through to 5pm on Wednesday 19^th February 2020 to allow for essential maintenance of the vegetation and trees on both sides of the CIE/Irish Rail line embankments.

There is currently an Orange Weather warning in place affecting County Laois from 8.00am to 3.00pm today Monday 13th January.

It is anticipated that wind speeds in County Laois will be at their peak between 11.30am and 1.30pm.

Laois County Council requests that members of the public exercise caution during this period.

Fallen Trees should be reported directly to 112 or 999 so the appropriate emergency service can be dispatched or report any damage caused to Laois County Council at 057 – 8664000.
