    Keep Active this Autumn with Active Parks!

    Laois County Council is coordinating the continuation of the Active Parks Programme for 2022 in partnership with local exercise instructors to provide a varied programme of fun outdoor physical activity sessions midweek for all ages.

  • Parks Tennis 2022

    Parks Tennis 2022

    The Sport & Leisure Section is delighted to welcome back Parks Tennis to Laois in 2022. Laois County Council in association with our Community Partners are providing children with the opportunity to play tennis in three locations around Laois during the last two weeks of July and first week in August. Locations include Mountmellick, Vicarstown and Mountrath. Qualified instructors are on hand to teach children new skills or improve their skills over a five day period. The cost of the camp is €30 per child per week with a €5 discount for additional family members. Bookings must be made in advance through Eventbrite.

    National Play Day- 2nd to 9th July 2022 (Inclusive)

    The aim of National Play Day is to promote play opportunities for children and young people all across the country, with this year’s theme being ‘All Play Together’. This year National Play Day can take place on any day or a combination of days between 02 July and 09 July (inclusive).

    As part of our Play Day funding LCC has purchased some large scale free-play equipment which we are happy to make available to communities. See some images below:
