  • Temporary Closure of the Linear Park, Portlaoise, Co Laois

    The Linear Park will be closed from 8am on Monday 17th February through to 5pm on Wednesday 19th February 2020 to allow for essential maintenance of the vegetation and trees on both sides of the CIE/Irish Rail line embankments.

  • Status Orange Alert – Co. Laois

    There is currently an Orange Weather warning in place affecting County Laois from 8.00am to 3.00pm today Monday 13th January.

    It is anticipated that wind speeds in County Laois will be at their peak between 11.30am and 1.30pm.

    Laois County Council requests that members of the public exercise caution during this period.

    Fallen Trees should be reported directly to 112 or 999 so the appropriate emergency service can be dispatched or report any damage caused to Laois County Council at 057 – 8664000.

  • Draft Corporate Plan 2019-2024

    Laois County Council is currently preparing a new Corporate Plan in respect of the period 2019 – 2024.

    The Corporate Plan sets out the core values of the organisation, the strategic aims and objectives and the supporting strategies for the implementation of same.

    A copy of the current Plan is available for viewing here. 

    Laois County Council wishes to invite submissions from interested parties in relation to the draft Plan. Submissions should be made in writing to the Director of Corporate Affairs, Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise, Co. Laois to be received no later than 12 noon on Monday 21st October 2019.
