  • Portlaoise Draft Local Area Plan 2018 – 2024

    Laois County Council Planning Authority wish to advise that the proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Portlaoise Local Area Plan 2018 – 2024 will be on public display from 7th August to 4th September 2018. 

    Submissions or observations regarding the proposed Material Alterations ONLY of the Draft LAP and the associated reports are hereby invited from the public and interested bodies. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations. Written submissions or observations made on or before 4pm on 4th September 2018 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Local Area Plan. Submissions may be made in one of the following ways:

    1. Write to: Senior Planner, Planning Section, Áras an Chontae, JFL Ave., Portlaoise, Co. Laois;
    2. Email: portlaoiselap@laoiscoco.ie

    A Public Information Session in relation to the Togher Masterplan and proposed Material Alterations will be held at the Maldron Hotel, Abbeyleix Road, Meelick, Portlaoise on Wednesday 22nd August 2018 between 4pm and 6pm.

  • The Wolfhill Coalmine Project Exhibition

    Exhibition on show at the Dunamaise Arts Centre “The Wolfhill Coalmine Project” A Collaborative mixed media exhibition featuring work by David Delaney, Ciara Drennan, Pauline McEvoy, Stephen Murphy, Jane Louise Kelly and Joseph Kavanagh.  25th July-1st Sept – Official opening on Wednesday 22nd August as part of Heritage Week.

    Road Closure on all approaches to Portlaoise Retail Park Roundabout for the construction of the Portlaoise Southern Circular Extension. Local access will be provided.   Please allow extra time for your journeys and use diversions as signposted.

    Work commencing today until 28th August 2018.
